fter a wonderful five weeks of maternity leave, I am fully back to work and it feels great. This is my first time being a full time working mom and it seems to be going pretty well. (so far ;) Baby Hank couldn't be a better baby. He is a great eater, sleeper and doesn't cry a whole lot.... Well at least not yet. :)

Its amazing what you can do with no sleep. It's almost as if my body just naturally shifted into mommy mode the second I held him. Getting up in the middle of night isn't a burden because I love him so much. People used to see Stephen and I after we just got married and they used to say "wait to have kids". I get it. I understand the importance of soaking up time with each other but Hank has just enriched our lives even more. I feel like I can hardly remember life before him. Even more do I understand how incredibly blessed I am. I have the honor of raising this little guy and being able to work a job that I absolutely adore. Although I'm sure ill hit some challenges along the way, Im excited to see what this next year brings. Here are a few things I've learned about being a working mom.

1. Treat yourself to a massage. I am a member at massage envy and cannot express how important it is to take just an hour to rub out some stress from your body. You'll feel refreshed and ready to get back at your double duty. But remember, after getting no sleep, you may not even remember the massage since your snoring will wake you up throughout the entire massage. I promise, it happens every time.
2. You'll get really good at multitasking. Well at least while they're a newborn. I can hold him in one arm and type an email with the other. It may take me a little longer but hey, at least it got done.
3. Learn to manage your time better. Henry takes up most my day now so I have to be really specific as to when I will work. Right now, he sleeps a lot so I can work in between his awake times. It's going pretty good (for now :)
4. Find people to help you! I live close to my family and friends so If I need to get something done, I know I have people around me I can trust to help me along the way.

This past weekend, we traveled to Boise Idaho to photograph two ridiculously good looking people on their wedding day. Henry was only 4 weeks old and his first flight was pure success. We made it off the plane without any major diaper explosions or break downs. Praise God! This week? Nashville.. I think we can do it :) Here is a sneak peek of last weeks stunning wedding.
