WEDDING GIVEAWAY!

May 26, 2009

I
became a photographer about four years ago. I'm not really sure I "became" a photographer or if I had the talent all along. The furthest back I can remember loving photography are the model shots I took as a kid. I loved to get together with my girlfriends and carelessly paint each others faces with what we thought was a fabulous makeup job. We took photos for hours in our backyards with my moms 35mm camera and waited anxiously at walmart for the film to be developed so we could see our pretty little faces on a piece of shiny paper. I never really was that girl that read all the magazine articles and soaked up all the news in the newspaper, but I was the girl that was enamoured by all the photographs next to the long articles that never seemed to interest me. Don't get me wrong, I love reading but sometimes photos are just better.
Cinematography was always my favorite. Not only did I fall in love with romantic story lines but I was hooked by the way film could make everything seem so much better. Everything just looked more graceful and vibrant on film. I was and still am such a sappy movie watcher. I would get pulled into each character role and imagine what it was like to fall in love with Noah Calhoun and Jack Dawson. (If you don't know what characters these are, I suggest you look them up.)
I never put a finger on what I wanted to do through college until I took my first photojournalism class. After my first class, I knew I was in the right place at the right time. I thought about all the avenues of photography but discovered wedding photography was the best route for me. I can't think of anything better than to spend time with a group of people in love. I've been through what artists know as highs and lows of photography. Its been exciting and tough discovering who I want to be as a photographer. Through it all, there has always been one thing that has remained constant. I continually fall deeply in love with soaking up other peoples joy and figuring out ways to see love differently through my lens. It seems all my movie watching, magazine reading and model shots, all seemed to play a role throughout my life without even realizing it. Because I feel I am in the place I am supposed to be, doing what I feel I am meant to do, I think it's time to give back. SO, I decided I want to give a FREE wedding to the most deserving couple.

Although I wish I could shoot everyones wedding for free, life doesn't quite allow that to be possible but I can do it once!
Here are the rules :

*The wedding must be in 2010.
*I must be available on your date.
*I will travel ANYWHERE but all travel must be paid for (the only expense)
*I will provide my services completely free!
*Has to be someone that has not already inquired.

If anyone is interested, I would be HAPPY to send over what all this includes but FIRST you must leave a comment with your name, wedding date and location and e-mail me at stephanie@stephaniefay.com with WHY you feel you deserve this. The winner will be chosen based on the most deserving story. Be detailed and honest! I want everyone and anyone to submit an inquiry!
I can't wait to hear from everyone! I hope that I can give back to someone that truly deserves this! The WINNER will be announced on July 1, 2009.

I thought I would include a photo that I took during college. This photo still inspires me.
